Mixing + Mastering

We mix all genres and formats, whether your destination is streaming, CD, broadcast, or elsewhere. Don’t forget to check our packages and special pricing for podcasts, album rollouts, and students.

  • 1 instrumental track + up to 20 vocal tracks/stems. No additional fee for up to 5 SFX tracks (e.g. sirens, explosions, ambience, voicemail messages, etc.).

    7-day turnaround. 2 revisions included, $15 for each additional revision. Delivered as 320kbps MP3 and 24-bit WAV at 44.1khz.

  • Up to 15 instrumental tracks/stems + up to 20 vocal tracks/stems. No additional fee for up to 5 SFX tracks (e.g. sirens, explosions, ambience, voicemail messages, etc.).

    7-day turnaround. 2 revisions included, $15 for each additional revision. Delivered as 320kbps MP3 and 24-bit WAV at 44.1khz.

  • Up to 4 vocal tracks/4 separate voices. Additional fee from $5-$15 for each non-vocal element (e.g. SFX, ambience, intro/outro music, background music).

    $50 minimum up-front regardless of finished audio length. For example, a 15-minute completed track and a 30-minute completed track will both be $50. A 45-minute track will be $50 up-front, and $25 after delivery. If you are paying for multiple episodes/finished tracks at once and they are each under 30-minutes, we’ll use the total finished audio length — you won’t be charged $50 for each one.

  • Mix only: $80 for 2-track. $150 for full mix with instrumental tracks. $80/finished audio hour for spoken word. Please refer to the other mix categories for more details on each of these options. 7-day turnaround.

    Master only: $50 for music. $50/finished audio hour for spoken word. Please refer to the other master categories for more details on each of these options. 4-day turnaround.

  • No additional turnaround if requested with 24-bit mix + master.

    2-day turnaround if requested after 24-bit master is delivered. Please request within 30 days of receiving your 24-bit master.

  • Up to 20 vocal tracks.

    If purchasing as an add-on: $20/song. Delivered as part of the mixed or mastered track.

    If purchasing as a standalone (no mix or further processing): this service is $50/song with 5-day turnaround. 2 revisions included, $15 for each additional revision. Delivered as 320kbps MP3 and 24-bit WAV at 44.1khz.

How to order:

You can use our contact form to request mixing and mastering for a guaranteed response within 12 hours. If you’d like to speak with a staff member directly, we encourage you to call, text, or DM so your mix can be confirmed ASAP.

Before your mix:

  • If you want to incorporate specific FX processing, SFX tracks, or edits (e.g. drops, extension/shortening, etc.), just let us know when you order your mix. Please use timestamps or otherwise clearly indicate where you want these elements (e.g. “reverse reverb into the main vocal of all the hooks”, “distort the word ‘time’ at 01:42 of the track”, “use a heavy delay on all the ad libs”).

  • Feel free to send reference tracks (your own or other artists’) showing how you’d like your overall mix or elements of your mix to sound.

  • If you’re not sure about the details but still have ideas for how you want your mix to sound, no worries. Just communicate what you have in mind when you reach out to us, and we’ll make sure we’re on the same page. You can also give your engineer creative freedom to interpret the track. We’ll make sure you sound great.

  • If you’re mixing trackouts or stems that weren’t recorded at Afterlife, please make sure tracks are all aligned to the start and labelled properly. Vocal tracks should be dry and preferably in mono. If you’re unsure about the format, feel free to put us in contact with your recording engineer. Please do not send session files for mixing or mastering — only audio files and text for notes.

Other useful information:

  • We accept Zelle, Cash App, Paypal, Venmo, or cash upfront. Full payment is required to confirm your mix, unless you are paying by finished audio hour, in which case $50 is due upfront and the rest is calculated and due within 48 hours of delivery of the final mix.

  • At this time, we only offer stereo mastering. We do not offer vinyl mastering. If you’re interested, we’re happy to recommend mixing and mastering engineers who meet your needs.

  • No additional charge for 16-bit CD master. This is available as a complimentary add-on to a master you’ve purchased with us. No additional turnaround if requested with 24-bit master. 2-day turnaround if requested after 24-bit master is delivered. Please request within 30 days of receiving your 24-bit master. $15 charge if requested more than 30 days after.
